Eco Cleaning Products You Can Make at Home

Cleaning is never a fun task. However, picking out a cleaning product to use can be even more of a headache. Most cleaning products you see at stores are made with ingredients that are toxic, tested on animals, and are not good for the environment. Instead of turning your search for the best cleaning product into a hassle consider easily making your own products with ingredients you most likely have in your home and if not can be found in your local grocery store.

Glass Cleaner:

  • One cup of water

  • One cup of rubbing Alcohol

  • One tablespoon of white vinegar

  • One tablespoon of lemon juice or a few drops of lemon essential oil

Wood Cleaner:

  • One cup of water

  • One cup of white vinegar

  • One tablespoon of olive oil

All Purpose Cleaner:

  • One cup of water

  • One cup of white vinegar

  • A few drops of your desired essential oil (lavender, lemon, eucalyptus, etc.)

Stain Remover:

  • One cup of white vinegar

  • One-half a cup of hydrogen peroxide

  • Two tablespoons of baking soda

  • One tablespoon of lemon juice

  • One tablespoon of a all natural soap

You can store your homemade cleaning products in reused glass jars or by purchasing glass or non-plastic spray bottles.

Another tip, consider adding essential oils, lemon juice or fresh flowers (such as lavender) to all your homemade cleaning products for an added wonderful smell.
